Synopsis

A young woman finds romance, only for it to get interrupted by her discovery of a book on intersex that brings her face to face with her inner turmoil. The sacrifice of an intersex mother for her adopted daughter and the struggle for the rights of people like her. Her story, one of struggle, perseverance, and triumph as she rises from the impasse of poor village life and cruel tradition to the highest degree of success. Her allies in this sojourn: love, friendship, and humour. Two women, two timelines, two generations, and always the one thing that truly matters: Love.

Synopsis

Two teenage boys from very different London backgrounds embark on a road trip North together. Nathan is running away from his foster home in search of his sister who he thinks lives in Scotland, while Sam is heading to the North-East of England to see his mum. After a chance encounter, Sam agrees to give Nathan a ride North in his mum’s car, and as their impromptu adventure together takes an unexpected turn, the boys begin to open up and learn they have far more in common than they first thought.

Up against formidable rival Roland Gumpert (Brühl) and his superior Audi team (including the Queen of Speed herself, Michèle Mouton), Lancia Team Manager Cesare Fiorio (Scamarcio) faces certain defeat in the 1983 Rally World Championship. But Fiorio’s ingenuity and cunning rise to the challenge and he sets about trying to steal victory. Like any good heist, Fiorio puts together an unusual team, including Jane McCoy, the team doctor and nutritionist who becomes a necessary foil against Cesare’s bravado. Cesare’s stroke of luck comes when he coaxes the zen-like Walter Röhrl (Bruch) to drive for Lancia, but the catch is Röhrl will only compete in the races he likes! Using every trick at his disposal and bending the rules as he goes, Fiorio steers into dangerous territory on and off the track, all in his reckless desire to win.
