Synopsis

Kelly, a beautiful 19-year-old blonde American rock chick arrives in London ostensibly to join a band. However, when she arrives, Kelly is horrified to discover that the band she was meant to go on tour with have disappeared - leaving her stranded and alone in a strange city. Desperate, she rents an attic flat in Hampstead from Harry, a strange, seedy but jovial landlord who tells her that she can be his guest, but the price is steeper than she thinks as the flat for all intents and purposes is a gateway to Hell.

Through the chaos the resident creatures pull together using a specially designed mechanism to bring Chupoo his morning shower. As soon as his shower is over trained bats fly the sleeping Chupoo back up his tree to bed, only to see the rigmarole start all over again the very next morning.

Synopsis

The film is structured on a twenty shot sequence of a room that is repeated three times. The first two sequences are in colour, and are shot according to a strict formal plan. Each shot contains a portion of the point of view of its adjacent partners. The second two sequences are in black and white and are more freely structured, even though they follow the spatial-formal pattern established in the first sequence. The only movement in the film is accidental – clouds seen through a window- otherwise nothing moves and there is no sound.
