A glimpse of a distopian future where the cross contamination of genetic material runs out of control. The film uses a combination of 3-D and 2-D animation to create an atmospheric and ultimately disturbing world through which the camera moves to discover hybrid lifeforms.

It's the year 2004. A company called Cortex exists. It advertises its services by way of the Internet. The role of this organisation is simple: if you want somebody dead, simply push a few buttons and pay. The organisation collects the money and immediately finds the best professional hit man for the job. The killers are the first human beings to be implanted with a miniature "Eyecam". This permits them to record their work. Their work is then downloaded, shown to the client and ultimately sold by Cortex to those who can afford it. Tom Lawson is one of these Cortex killers. He doesn't know why he has to kill these people. He only knows he has to do it and follows the orders. He never asks questions. And the only reason he does it is for the money. He has just been commissioned to kill a little black kid. But today this killing will lead him to an unexpected love story and to his last days within the organisation.

Set against the backdrop of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) hearings, Washington Post journalist, Langston Whitfield (Samuel L. The film produced for S4C by TV company Fiction Factory, takes viewers on a 2,000-year odyssey through Europe's oldest surviving bardic tradition. It takes in everything from Aneirin's sixth century war reportage to today's modern poetry slams, along with subtle clues to the secrets of its survival.   The film features some of Wales' greatest performing talents. Sian Phillips, Ioan Gruffudd, Matthew Rhys and Rhys Ifans are among those reading poems while singer-songwriters Cerys Matthews and John Cale perform their own arrangements of two Welsh melodies. The film has a stirring musical score composed by Catatonia's Owen Powell and Bedwyr Humphries.

Synopsis

The tale of Josh, a man at the end of his tether for whom wine, song and women no longer hold any pleasure. He books a call girl when spurned at a bar. Tara the call girl is not happy about being called out during daylight hours. However a job's a job. These two damaged individuals come together like a jigsaw puzzle forming a picture of the intricacies of their lives. They find in each other a difference and similarity that brings to them both a moment of hope.
