With the very modern themes of immigration and social displacement, this story of forbidden love follows Lucy and Luca's journey as they elope after meeting in her Chinese father's restaurant in London, in search of a better life. Lucy and Luca manage to escape their fate in one controlling world only to face the harsh realities of another. With the prospect of a possible pregnancy, Lucy pays a visit to her alcoholic mother for advice, fearing no support she is forced to make her own choice.
