A timely black comedy about two influential men who cannot stand each other. After one of them takes a wrong turn in the middle of the night the balance of power between them tips in a way that will change their relationship forever.

A hard-boiled crime thriller that takes place over the course of 24 hours or one day. Rebecca Ryan has been working as an undercover agent for the Organized Crime Division (OCD) posing as a taxi driver, while investigating London's south-side mob. When she finds her young daughter Lynn brutally murdered she fears her cover has been blown wide open, so she turns renegade and begins a brutal campaign of vengeance against the mob she believes killed her daughter.
 
As she trawls the seedy depths of London's underworld hunting down her daughter's killers, the lines between good and evil, right and wrong begin to blur as do her notions of justice and revenge. It falls to the world-weary OCD agent Darius Cruise and his newly-assigned, hot-tempered partner Abby Barrett to track down Rebecca and bring her in before all hell breaks loose. As implied by the title, the events take place over a 24-hour period, with each of the main characters having their own problems to over come as the day unfolds.

It is a movie of the same type as Match Point set in contemporary London and it’s environs and full of suspense and tension. In this case the brothers are working class and brilliantly acted by Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell. Tom Wilkinson also appears as he's never been seen before and Sally Hawkins plays Colin's loving, terrified fiancée, while Hayley Atwell plays the ravishing, unattainable love/sex object of Ewan McGregor. The photography is by the brilliant Vilmos Zsigmond and the astonishing score by the great Philip Glass. A very powerful suspense drama,' (Woody Allen).
