Synopsis

A dissatisfied and alienated young woman finds momentary purpose when a strange self-help guide comes into her life. Although her life improves, when she unwittingly encounters the author in a pub she is faced with an unsettling realisation.

Set in current day Brooklyn, the story of Lilian, a lazy but charming and beautiful young woman who, having broken up with her boyfriend, has been placed into the care of family friend and famed reclusive author, Julia Price. To impress her ex-boyfriend, and the other cynics around her, Lilian suddenly decides to make a documentary on Julia - albeit an unauthorized one - with surprisingly amusing results.

Synopsis

Iceland is a country marked by its frozen nature and extreme temperatures, which give it a certain touristic appeal. The harshness of the climatic conditions and the enthusiasm of tourists regularly cause car accidents to happen. From this phenomenon, verging on absurdity, the artist and filmmaker Ruaidhri Ryan had planned to make a road movie, one that he will never finish. He thus adventures into the different phases of pre-production, production and post-production of what this film could have been.
This film captures the hilarious diary of this failure, in which Ryan calls on a 4x4, a GPS gnawed by the cold, an elf and a Viking guide with whom he maintains a virtual correspondence. Moving between simulated reality, video games and cinema, the film explores the geography of a country marked by the exoticism of its landscapes, often used as backdrops for Hollywood movies. A hilarious look at the way in which new technologies condition our ways of representing territories.

Maisy is self-conscious and constantly overanalysing. She is obsessed with having her first kiss this year before she turns seventeen, but stalking the boy next door doesn’t seem to be working.

Meanwhile Ben, a boy from a nearby school, is happy being a nerd and thinking he’s better than everyone else until his grades start plummeting. For the first time he must come face to face with the idea that he might, in fact, be average.

When the two meet each other on the night bus things get even more confusing for them as they attempt to navigate their first potential romance under the stress of exams that will define their future.
