Synopsis

An ironic look at the way newspapers report children's deaths, accidents, bad mothers, angry fathers and the bogeyman. Based on the film maker's archive of newspaper clippings, these are terrible stories that make great copy. With an inventive mix of still photography and live action, the film sweeps around Britain to create a chilling comment on death, news reporting and the family.

Synopsis

An unsettling take on the ‘natural history’ of our contemporary urban environment, recreating three reported incidents where humans and ‘friendly’ animals interact badly – a postman kills a dog, a dog attacks a child, a horse kills a cyclist.

Synopsis

A quirky, horrific and erotic journey made on foot through the evolution of a contemporary male sexuality, from playful childhood friendship and past the puberty bits into a contented adult relationship.

Synopsis

The poetic youth is back and the decades fall away in this pastel pastoral. Roger McGough doesn’t cough once as the season sentimentally unfolds.

Synopsis

Sir Henry Wellcome (1853–1936) amassed one of the world’s largest museum collections, capturing human culture and history through medical eyes. The Phantom Museum uses animation to imaginatively ‘document’ this extraordinary assemblage and simultaneously reveal an extremely beautiful yet odd inner cosmos of things.

Synopsis

As much documentary as it is religious art, as much religious art as it is rock and roll, as much rock and roll as it is rhetoric and as much rhetoric as it is cinema. This unique, kaleidoscopic film is "a richly cinematic experience" inside the lives of worshippers from the congregation of The Greater Bethany Community Church, (now The City of Refuge), in South Central Los Angeles. Bishop Noel Jones, (brother of Grace Jones), is both shepherd and rock as the film weaves between community life, gospel song and his electric church sermons.
