Synopsis

Minnie and Ernest Tucker, mid twenties, brother and sister, live on a moorland farm in Somerset. The farm has failed and they make a meagre living taking stray bed and breakfast guests. When a couple, Ben and Carol from London book in for the night. Ernest takes a dislike to Ben and kills him with an axe. Carol flees, but Ernest catches her then kills her with a pichfork.

Minnie to protect her brother,buries the bodies at the bottom of a field. She is tired of Ernest, but she is stuck with him. They end up in a downward spiral, where each new guest, of which there are seven , becomes a victim. Paying their bills is now a murderous habit. Seven Crosses, set in rural West Country England, is a tale of brother and sisterly love gone wrong.

Synopsis

1815. Shipwrecked off Ireland and landed at Watchet Harbour, Somerset - Esmeralda Grimm and her maid-servant half-sister Fancy, set out on the final leg of their journey home to house of Grimm.

Synopsis

A four person crew, sent to bring back a mothballed ship parked at the back of Pluto, find themselves on their way to the edge of the Universe. Synopsis

The Celts need to seek a new hero to help them fight the raiding Angles.
Fingal, the Celtic hero, betrayed to the Angles led by Aeric The Axe, is murdered. Meanwhile, Roderich, the governor of Strathclyde, preparing to make himself a king by marrying the daughter of the king of Ulster, Langoreth O' Neill, has his own daughter Melangall, a disappointment to him, banished to the farm of a serf in the loch lands.

Fingal's daughter Ethne, with the aide of retainer Domlec, sets off after the Angles to avenge her father and seek help from the Picts. However, the Angles are having their own difficulties - their ship has been stolen by a Friesian merchant Aldric who had been kept captive by Aeric. When the ship is struck and sunk by a loch monster, Aldric and slave girl Hretha determine to have their revenge on Aeric.

To complicate matters, double-dealing Tudwal, the betrayer of Fingal, in exchange for the chance to marry Roderich's daughter Melangall, also sets off to find Aeric and kill him. Roderich, meanwhile, left behind to negotiate his marriage terms, finds himself agreeing that once married to Langoreth and proclaimed king, she will set off to Rome for good with her monk Oran, and be supported by Roderich for the rest of her life.

Finally, Roderich's retainer, Dyfnwal, the gentle giant who Melangall loves, realises that unless he does something to straighten matters out, the country will sink further into ruin.

Synopsis

Five students fall in with a murderer while hill trekking.

Isla, a university undergraduate, escapes to the hills for a few days before her finals. Meeting up with fellow students Pearl, Stephan, Tamara and Rory at a hillside bothy, they encounter loner Brendan crossing the hills on his mountain bike. Isla senses that there is something strange about Brendan, but the others dismiss her fears.
The following morning, Stephan, Tamara and Rory go on ahead. Pearl, recovering from a hangover, is lectured by Isla about her lifestyle while Brendan stalks them, then bikes on ahead to stalk the other three. When Rory injures his ankle, Brendan offers to take him back to the main road on the back of his bike. Rory accepts, and when Brendan coldly murders him a little later, we know that the others are destined to suffer the same fate.

A story about how a group of students, living in an academic bubble, can be so trusting that they make murder easy for a psychopath.

Synopsis

Four useless Neds steal a priceless painting from a Scottish castle in return for ten percent of its insurance value. The four art thieves are not quite the smooth operators they believe themselves to be, and their plot to blackmail the owner of the painting is foiled by their own incompetence. Instead of beating a quick retreat abroad, the boys remain in Scotland and try to blend into the background by becoming high profile tourists in golfing ranges and hunting lodges. They are noticed quickly when the heavy handed William accidentally shoots James, his feckless sidekick, on a hunting trip. As each tourist escapade becomes more ridiculous their plans unravel, but they are powerless to resist the lure of the many pretty women who find their money and time irresistible.

Synopsis

Helen Fortuno, an Italian living in London, has not heard from her brother Frank for two years. She receives a cryptic postcard from him with enough informaiton for her to track him down to a Buddhist retreat in Scotland. Along for the ride is London girl Sylvia who is using Helen's search for her brother as her chance to leave her psycho husband Gordon.

Arriving at the monastry, they are told by a monk that Frank, failing to fit in, has moved on with tantric student Fiona. At Fiona's cottage they find Fiona has been abandoned by Frank and has a baby daughter by him. Frank has gone to live on the coast but when Helen confronts Frank's ex-beach buddy Joe, she realises that Frank doesn't want to be found. Meanwhile, Sylvia takes a fancy to kilted barman Davie and invites him along. Helen feels Davie is slowing them down and provokes him into parting with them. The two women, now followed by a mysterious Man in Black, continue on their search for Frank and encounter the Jeweller, Sunshine and Sophie, who guide Helen to the Drummer Girl, a forger who has given Frank a new identity - Sid Arthur.

When the Drummer Girl is murdered, Sylvia realises they are involved in something bigger than just looking for Helen's brother.

Synopsis

Robert Burns overcomes his upbringing as a farm labourer to become the national poet of Scotland. Love comes his way in the form of Jean Armour but his attempts at securing a happy relationship are blighted by Jean's father who disapproves of Burns. Finally, Jean and Robbie are married and Burns tries to settle down to a happy married life, but the success of his literary career brings with it many temptations and he is unable to resist the attention of the aristocratic women who fawn upon him.
 
Finding difficulties in supporting his growing family of children, Burns seeks work as a local tax and excise officer in the port of Dumfries as Britain is threatened by the spread of the French Revolution. He meets and falls in love with married aristocrat Maria Riddell, and he is unwittingly exposed to rumour and innuendo. Siding with the sentiments of the revolution, his republican stance provokes retaliation from the aristocracy. Walter Riddell, Maria's husband, circulates false rumours to ruin his reputation. Systematically Burns is ousted from all polite society, and reduced to poverty by his government employers. Only his wife Jean and his friend Lewars stand by him.
 
Burns, blighted by illness since youth, bids to ease his suffering by giving in to the cures of Doctor Maxwell, who wrongly prescribes mercury. Faced with death, Burns reaffirms his love for Maria, and comes to terms with his powerlessness to right his many affairs and the tragedy of his marriage to Jean as he fights to make sure his work is not destroyed.

Synopsis

Scotland, present day. In love with two women, drug dependent Jonnie Condor escapes the city life with voluptuous Jackie Fox. They drive into the wilds of snowy Scotland and search for happiness in time-warped Happy Valley. Jonnie tries to convince Jackie to love him, but she is not interested in his changing moods and silent pauses, and deserts him for someone her own age.

Jonnie's search for an inner paradise is put on hold as he struggles to find new direction in the wild landscape. Frustrated and defeated, he meets refined Katrina Quiver who immediately leads him on a new journey of self-understanding. Camped in the high mountains she eases his over-burdened mind and begins to make him understand that his delusions are destroying him. She begins to teach him that he must live for the moment, but he pines to return to Happy Valley and his lost past.

They return to Happy Valley, but it is a mistake, and they drift back to the fringes of civilisation where they fall out. In a moment of clarity, Jonnie gives up his drug addiction and vows to accept Katrina's leadership.

Synopsis

Harry Gillespie, bookeeper for gangsters, pimps and drug barons, hides out on a Scottish island after he has escaped his former life by taking money from his 'employer'.

Harry escapes with his girlfriend, Ebony, who discovers it is only a matter of time before Harry is found and dealt with by a series of killers who come to make amends. Harry is more than they bargained for and he even surprises himself when he makes sure that none of his pursuers return to the mainland.

Synopsis

Glasgow, Scotland, May bank holiday Friday. After closing a big deal, young London businessman Charlie Grant puts his credit cards, and his briefcase in the trunk of his car. In celebration he gets wildly drunk. In the morning, he wakes up on a girl's sofa, then discovers that his car has been towed away to the city pound.





At the pound, now cashless, Charlie pleads to get his credit cards from the car. He is refused and the shutter comes down until the bank holiday is over. Angry, he calls Caroline, his wealthy fiancee in London. As she answers, he is mugged in the street by two addicts who steal his cellphone. Charlie tries to panhandle fifty pence to call Caroline again, but a street girl, Gina accuses him of stealing her pitch. They argue. Gina, seeing he is hurt, finally takes pity on him and lets him use her phone card. He reaches Caroline's answer phone. Gina seeing that Charlie is hungry takes him to the soup kitchen. She gets him a coat and a sleeping bag to get through the weekend. Charlie is ungrateful. Gina departs to rescue her street friend Lucy from corrupt cop Paterson who later singles Charlie out as a dealer. Fortunately Charlie meets street-wise Willie-Boy who gets him into a homeless hostel for the night.





Next day, Charlie re-meets Gina who wants to take him to Loch Lomond, but Gina and Lucy get arrested by the corrupt Cops for soliciting. Charlie convinces the duty sergeant to release them. Facing another night sleeping out, Gina takes Charlie back to her 'skipper'. That night, Charlie, Gina and some of their homeless friends are maliciously burnt out of their 'skipper' by Paterson . . .
