Amanda and Rowly are a young couple from London approached on holiday in Costa Rica to traffic cocaine for £10,000. For most mules, once is enough, for them it is just the beginning; until the consequences they face are far worse than the fear of imprisonment.

Four candidates sit in a small beige room, each preparing themselves to interview for their dream job; each trying to avoid contact with one another. As the number of abductions increase, key suspects are progressively eliminated, egos clash and tempers fray until the self-centred detective eventually zeros in on his nemesis. In the aftermath of Hurricane Fabian, the Bermuda Government commissioned a memorial to Bermudians “Lost at Sea”. This competition for the island's first public artwork was won by UK-based Bermudian-born sculptor Bill Ming. Andy Mckay’s film is a poetic portrait of the sculptor's early years in a segregated society, as a seaman, the cultural adjustment of coming to England in 1970 and surviving as an artist. The film weaves together his work, emotional and humorous life stories, the making of the 12 ton bronze construction and the defining moments of its meaning to Bermudian people. The film received a standing ovation at the 10th Bermuda International Film Festival. It was financed by The Government of Bermuda, Arts Council England, Nottinghamshire County Council, The University of Lincoln, INTA Films.

Synopsis

The film set in London is about the relationship between Kami, a 40 year old businessman whose father has just passed away, and Agha, the Mullah or Priest who conducts the burial ceremony. The story shows how Agha, an opium addict with a penchant for Persian Sufi poetry, takes Kami, who is distraught by the death of his father, under his wings. During their weekly meetings Agha not only exposes Kami to the beautiful poetry of Rumi and Hafiz but to the euphoric pleasures of opium, the preferred drug of Iranians since time immemorial.
