Synopsis

Filmed in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, LOOKING FOR ABRAHAM is a four-minute excerpt from a stand up routine captured during happy hour in a European hostel. The comic cultivates a relationship between the audience and himself that unnervingly veers between public performance and private confession. In an environment where this self-effacing routine could be his genuine act, the audience sits uncomfortably as they try to draw the line between fiction and reality.

Synopsis

What happens when a high-powered company CEO becomes dependent on the artificial intelligence that runs his office building? Who is actually in control, and does the artificial intelligence have a more developed moral sense than the man it 'serves'? THE BUILDING explores the ethical and personal issues raised by our increased dependence on technology, teasing out the complicated power dynamic between the central character Caleb and the Ai programmed to be his assistant.

Synopsis

Nathan has been travelling for nine months following university. He returns home to the depths of Devon with his beautiful girlfriend, Chrissie, with whom he is obviously in love. However, although his return is eagerly anticipated by his class-conscious family (and particularly father), what they do not know is that Chrissie is black. (Past Present Future) Imperfect explores the clash between new liberal Britain and old-England, where beauty is only skin deep.
 
This is the second feature from Bristol-based writer/producer Guy de Beaujeu (Living in Hope). He has teamed up with director Roger Thorp to create a dark family drama that will amuse and distress in equal measure. (Past Present Future) Imperfect  is a muti-layered film that stars a selection of the best of British acting talent.

Synopsis

Andy gets back from his holiday and is greeted by his girlfriend and friends. He has a surprise for them, and after embracing each of them in turn, he introduces them to someone he met on holiday; His fiancée.

The friends are stunned. Their jealousy turns to anger, their anger leads to paranoia and paranoia pushes them to reach the only logical conclusion, that Andy's fiancée: is a demon.

But how do you go about killing your best friend's fiancée without alerting him? Or his family? Or the other wedding guests?

9 Songs takes place in London in the autumn of 2003. Lisa is an American, studying in London for a year. Matt, a glaciologist, meets her at a rock concert at the Brixton Academy and falls in love with her. The film follows their domestic and physical relationship and includes music from the concerts they go to together: Black Rebel Morotcycle Club, The Von Bondies, Elbow, Primal Scream, The Dandy Warhols, Super Furry Animals, Franz Ferdinand, Michael Nyman.

In between the music and the bands we see Matt and Lisa making love. The film follows their love affair until Christmas, when Lisa leaves London and returns to America.
