A visual reflection on getting out of a harmful relationship and moving on. 'Sweet Like Lemons' is a play on the saying "when life gives you lemons make lemonade", only in this case there is no lemonade to be made but the lemons still taste sweeter than what you left behind.

Synopsis

Exploring the multifaceted interrelationships between trees and fungi within forest ecologies. Featuring the voice of ecologist Suzanne Simard, and her ground-breaking research into tree and fungal communities, the documentary reflects on the ‘biological neural network’ of forest ecosystems, and how the reciprocal, shared behaviour of mycelium and trees creates a resilient and healthy community of co-dependent species.

The gothic story of Dracula is reimagined in a solitary séance in which an animated pop-up book serves as a conduit for Dracula’s curse to re-enter the modern world. The participating audience are 'The Invited'. One guest at a time enters a dark room and is presented with a theatrical set up containing an AR device and a hand crafted pop-up book. Each turn of the page reveals an intricate kirigami world that fills with AR holograms to tell the story of Vampire X’s unholy desires. The 15 minute experience is an emotionally touching, uniquely poetic, haunted ride through the torments of unconsummated love.
