The story of Dinah Little, a no-nonsense, curmudgeonly farmer, and Charlie, the unloved niece who Dinah begrudgingly takes in after discovering her in an orphanage. Dinah's farm is in the self-proclaimed 'Pumpkin Capital of the World' where the biggest event of the year is a high-stakes, cutthroat giant-pumpkin-growing contest with an enormous cash prize. Synopsis

After the death of their parents, four siblings revisit their childhood home in Oxfordshire to tidy up before the house is sold. The old house creaks as the heirs rummage through every room. The house itself looks like a cross between the sets of Downton Abbey, Harry Potter and a BBC documentary on English gardening – charming, enchanting, a little creepy and maybe even cursed. Esoteric collections, antique furniture, paintings and, not least, a shared past, spill out of the cabinet of curiosities. Here, reality and fantasy have lived side by side. With each treasure they pack away, a new page in the story of an eccentric family are revealed. The mother, a passionate scientist, and the father, a dragon-obsessed art historian, filled their children with a mixture of made-up science and fabulous adventures. Cult-pop raconteur Aidan Moffat, former frontman of indie band Arab Strap sets out to explore Scotland’s past by rewriting and touring its oldest songs. But he doesn’t count on running into 79-year-old force of nature Sheila Stewart, a travelling balladeer who upturns Moffat’s folk assumptions. He believes the old songs are ripe for updating.
