Memory Block Memory Block

Director: Chris Saunders

Year: 2016

This film seeks to challenge the media construction and distortion of social memory through its representation of the disinvestment and regeneration of the Heygate Estate in London. Heygate became 'sexy' in the symbolic economy as a go-to urban dystopian film and TV location, before its demolition and enclosure as a privatised estate.

The Deep West The Deep West

Director: Chris Saunders

Year: 2016

Santa Monica, California - a beach boy/man dances alone. Against this familiar scene of west coast 'cool' narcissism Monica's every 'other' day story of being subjected to racist violence is retold and discussed by a white couple as they stroll on the beach.

Frank and Percy Frank and Percy

Director: Sean Mathias

Year: 2026

When two older men cross paths whilst walking their dogs on Hampstead Heath, casual chat about the weather and bad hips slowly gives way to something deeper. As their friendship blossoms into an unexpected romance, they must decide whether to take a chance on love. With sharp humour and touching moments, FRANK AND PERCY is a heartfelt life affirming tale that proves it’s never too late to love again.
