Flight

Synopsis

Flight is an experimental digital video work which explores, celebrates and questions our relationship with flying through a series of oneiric images, sounds and text. Structured around an  imaginary plane journey Flight highlights the processes of realisation, observation and memory: a cinema of gestures, suspension and transience. In Flight, the collision of speed and stillness, comfort and danger, beauty and potential horror provide a unique passage into the unchartered territories of our mind.

Director: Kevin Walls

Year: 2026

When meticulous, career-obsessed Cameron (James Rottger) discovers his aimless flatmate Eilidh (Elle Watson) is pregnant after their drunken one-night stand, both assume there is an obvious way out. But when Eilidh finds she cannot go through with the termination, the pair are forced into an awkward, absurd and increasingly intimate attempt at preparing for parenthood. As they stumble into something that looks suspiciously like a relationship, they begin to question the lives they thought they wanted and what they really mean to each other.
