Guilfest: The Official Movie

Synopsis

Guilfest has been running since 1993 in Guildford, Surrey UK. Acts in previous years have included Paul Weller, Jools Holland, and Van Morrison. The Documentary covers more than just the music, with interviews, history of the music festival, musical acts, and a true insight into how an independent music festival is produced. A different angle on modern day music festival documentaries, cameras were given out to festival goers to record their experiences over the three days.

The Surgery Productions bring you the world's first 'Dubumentary' film. A feature length music documentary following UK band Subsource. Their music styles encapsulate dance, rock, breakbeat, and drum & bass. In April 2010 they released their highly anticipated first album Tales from the Doombox. The documentary follows the band on tour around the UK & Europe sharing their experiences and capturing their unique stage presence. The film can be watched and enjoyed by anyone who appreciates live music and has respect for a group of musicians attempting to follow their dreams. Subsource have played shows across the UK, Berlin, Paris and legendary festivals such as V Festival, The Isle of Wight and Glastonbury.

Documenting and celebrating the Black British female roller-skating community, showcasing its long history and fixture within popular culture. Blurring the boundaries between documentary and music video, this experimental film reveals the expansive network of London’s Black skate scene through two key individuals that share their stories and delve into what this space and their skate crews and mentors provide them. This joyous exploration gives visibility to a subculture that to many outsiders is unknown but is made familiar through its nostalgic lens which pays homage to the sports DIY and music-led roots.
