Project Detail

In Praise of Slowness

Synopsis

In the face of the global economic and technological forces reshaping the city of Tangier, the profession of the bleach vendors seems to be on the verge of disappearance, yet this filmic portrait of their supply chain - and notably their insistent chanting - conveys acoustic and visual images of endurance. The film speaks to the accelerated urbanisation and industrialisation of Tangier, but also attests to how locally situated choreographies of Slowness articulate modes of resistance to the speed of capitalism.

Year: 2026

In GAWD V. THE PEOPLE, the audience is part of the court, it’s an AI-led tribunal where humanity is on trial for the right to remain on Earth. Volunteer audience members become witnesses aided by agentic legal aids as we defend our continued existence against Nonhumans testifying against human impact. Surrounding projection environments and evolving courtroom visuals transform the space to reflect the trial as evidence accumulates.
