Synopsis

A very contemporary urban comedy thriller about a group of unemployed friends who never do much more than sweat the small stuff, arguing the merits of chocolate cake versus strawberry gateau and the correct name for a pork pie with an egg in the middle. The world barely exists outside the house they share. They have no money, just an empty fridge with labelled shelves. Then one night they are tempted by the golden opportunity to share £200,000 in exchange for a little hard graft and a touch of nerve, in a race against the clock. All they have to do is shut up for long enough to spring the cash from a safe that is fast sinking to a watery grave. What's more, they have to do it and get out before the hard men who own it arrive to claim their prize or wreak havoc if denied.

A darkly comic tale of a young man's battle with madness. Ollie Kepler, wacky astronomy enthusiast and web designer, moves in with his best friend after he loses his fiance, but is repeatedly drawn back to the place of her death; their unpainted apartment. There, a broken promise made to her returns to haunt him with growing ferocity. Ollie's guilt merges with his scientific brilliance into a frantic attempt to redeem himself. Quitting his job in a bizarre act of defiance, Ollie spirals into a chilling world of obsession and tormenting voices, threatening both his friendship and sanity. Convinced that a strange piece of rock he has found is a micro-chip which holds a vital message from his fiance, Ollie sets about trying to unlock the chip with disastrous results.
