Charlie Noades R.I.P. is based around its central character Steve Parr. He works in the family business ‘Scrap and Salvage’ in a yard owned by his father Les. Surrounded by a loyal - if a little strange band of workmates who consist of Mick – his best friend and a self appointed gigolo, Sonny – a divorcee with an addiction to the Discovery Channel, Kitty – Steve’s auntie, a middle aged spinster with a razor sharp sarcastic wit and Elvis who is - well he’s just Elvis, oh and there’s Frank the junk yard dog – he’s got a sexual appetite matched only by Hugh Heffner! Together they spend their days trying to make a living in a business that belongs to a different time.<br /> <br /> On returning from a routine job, Steve is informed that he has been left a wooden chest full of old diaries in the will of a complete stranger. The diaries reveal a long, forgotten secret involving Steve’s Grandfather and a large quantity of hidden gold. Can he unlock the secrets and find the missing gold? Eddie Harris is a 'normal' dad, who loves his life, his job and most of all his family.<br /> <br /> His philosophy is honesty and frankness and agrees with his wife Jeanie to be totally open when answering their children's questions, no matter how embarrassing. This backfires when their daughter stumbles in on them making love, and proceeds in all innocence to regale her school with her inside knowledge of carnal pleasures. Jeanie is asked to see the Headmistress who is slightly concerned at the level of Katie's knowledge and at a picture Katie has drawn of Eddie dressed up as a 'rough old granny' as part of a bath-time game.<br /> <br /> Eddie soon finds himself being investigated and, in an attempt to keep his family together, is forced to exile himself from his family until the matter is dealt with.
