The River
Director: John Michell
Year: 2013
Ray has spent his life on the river, an oasis from the chaos of on-shore pains. But gobby workmate Kenny’s arrival pushes him to set off towards the ocean. Fearing the worst, Kenny goes in pursuit, but his lack of planning may mean the end of this unlikely duo.
Adage
Director: Jack Barrett
Year: 2025
Adage is a ballet term which refers to a slow and graceful sequence of movements - in this film artist/ filmmaker Jack Barrett seeks to juxtapose this with disorientating abstraction caused by process and editing. Barrett utilises risograph, mono-print, shadow projection and manual point tracking to create varying levels of abstraction, in turn playing with our associated perception of movement.
