Synopsis

In 1910 New York, a woman had a dream: to fly. Miss Todd works to understand the principles of flight but she has more than gravity holding her down. In this animated, stop-motion musical, Miss Todd's plight and adventure soar out of her forgotten presence in aviation history.

Adage is a ballet term which refers to a slow and graceful sequence of movements - in this film artist/ filmmaker Jack Barrett seeks to juxtapose this with disorientating abstraction caused by process and editing. Barrett utilises risograph, mono-print, shadow projection and manual point tracking to create varying levels of abstraction, in turn playing with our associated perception of movement.
