Synopsis

Mister Lonely is a young American living in Paris. He scratches out a living as a Michael Jackson look-alike, dancing on the streets, public parks, tourist spots and trade shows. Different from everyone else - he feels as if he's floating between two worlds. During a car show Michael Jackson meets Marilyn Monroe. Haunted by her angelic beauty he follows her to a commune in the Highlands, joining her husband Charlie Chaplin and her daughter Shirley Temple. A place where everyone is famous and no-one gets old. Here, The Pope, The Queen of England, Charlie Chaplin, Madonna, Marylin Monroe, James Dean and other impersonators construct, with love and passion, a theatre where they intend to stage the greatest show in the world.

A film unearthed from the buried landscape of the American nightmare, Trash Humpers follows a small group of elderly 'Peeping Toms' through the shadows and margins of an unfamiliar world. Crudely documented by the participants themselves, we follow the debased and shocking actions of a group of true sociopaths the likes of which have never been seen before. Inhabiting a world of broken dreams and beyond the limits of morality they crash against a torn and frayed America. Bordering on an ode to vandalism, it is a new type of horror; palpable and raw.
