Mrs Caldicot's Cabbage War
Synopsis
Thelma Caldicot has endured thirty years of dull, boring marriage to a dominating and insensitive husband. When two police officers bring the news of her unexpected widowhood, a sequence of events lead to a radical change in her way of life.
Before she has time to take stock of her new situation, her son Derek, an ambitious man in spite of inheriting his father's dullness, arrives with his dreadful family and begins to interfere and dominate her life.
After years of being bullied and pushed around, Mrs Caldicot's dormant self awakens, making her determined to take charge of her own life. Forced out of home into care, she acquires a band of strange new friends who look to her for help and assistance. These new responsibilities give her life a purpose, allowing her to find the courage to face up to any adversity, whether it comes in the shape of an unpleasant TV personality or the odious manager of a Rest Home.

Told through leaked footage compiled by a whistle-blower, the film follows Emma and Richard, a couple thrust into the wilderness to survive for 100 days. Their confidence quickly turns to terror as a malevolent creature begins stalking them, ultimately killing Richard in a gruesome attack. Emma escapes and infiltrates the facility where the show's creators review their "progress." There, she discovers the chilling truth: the creature is part of their unholy science. With the odds stacked against her, Emma turns the tables - delivering brutal justice with unexpected aid from the very horror that was meant to destroy her. A darkly satirical blend of horror, sci-fi, and mockumentary, THE WILDING exposes the monstrous extremes the powerful will go to cheat death - and the human cost of their ambition.
