Synopsis

As Jay races through another day in the City, a chance encounter forces him to stop. He is confronted by an enigmatic Professor and three Nudes who use stillness to reveal creativity, identity and mindfulness. Will he find the inner strength to expose his true self and transform his life?

Adage is a ballet term which refers to a slow and graceful sequence of movements - in this film artist/ filmmaker Jack Barrett seeks to juxtapose this with disorientating abstraction caused by process and editing. Barrett utilises risograph, mono-print, shadow projection and manual point tracking to create varying levels of abstraction, in turn playing with our associated perception of movement.
