Our Land

Synopsis

OUR LAND dares to tread where few have trespassed before. The film seamlessly juxtaposes the two sides of the debate around our access to nature, giving voice to the different perspectives - those fighting for greater access to the countryside and the landowners who claim to be stewards of the land. Blending history with an eye on the future, Our Land cuts through the conflict, exploring the complex issues of access, custodianship, and conservation. With stunning visuals and gripping narratives from both sides of the fence, the film challenges the age-old beliefs that have shaped our relationship with the land for over a thousand years. As the battle for nature continues on, who truly has the right to roam?

Another News Story Another News Story

Director: Orban Wallace

Year: 2017

What happens when the news cameras turn off? 'Another News Story' reveals the action behind the scenes of the news teams tasked with reporting the refugee story as it swept across the Balkans and into Europe at the height of the crisis.
In an intimate display of how these two juxtaposed roles coexist in such tragic and unfathomable situations, the film follows through our characters to directly after when the Paris attacks have happened and the news rhetoric has changed against the refugees. Intercutting directly between the broadcast news and our own footage of reports going live, the film presents a unique insight into the news machine.
Amid the current widespread popular move to the right and a world of "post truth", this film serves as an eye-opening account of how news is created, and a reminder that for many this was much more than Another News Story.

Spacewoman Spacewoman

Director: Hannah Berryman

Year: 2024

A landmark feature documentary about astronaut Eileen Collins, the first woman to pilot and command the Space Shuttle.
Eileen’s incredible journey starts with her smalltown beginnings, sees her smash through many glass ceilings, and culminates in four dramatic space shuttle missions, the last being possibly the most dangerous and most important of them all.
At its heart the film is the moving human drama of one family, where a mother’s extraordinary career takes us straight to the big philosophical question of what is the level of acceptable risk in human endeavour?
This film celebrates Commander Collins’ trailblazing NASA career which opened the way for women to become spacecraft pilots and commanders, and proved a perfect riposte to a previous generation of male astronauts who thought there was no place for women to lead the way in space.
Official Selection DOC NYC 2024 - World premiere
Official Selection CPH:DOX 2025 - European premiere

Portrait of Patrick Wolf looking out to sea Howls to the Harbour

Director: Christian Cargill

Year: 2025

One of the defining musicians of his generation, Patrick Wolf first found fame in noughties London. Shapeshifting between avant-garde artist and queer popstar, he was a maverick of his time. All until 2012, when his life fell spectacularly to pieces and music became a painful memory.

A decade of silence followed which saw Patrick confront immense addiction battles making him creatively incapable of finishing a song, ultimately leading him to escape the city that had both shaped and shattered him.

HOWLS TO THE HARBOUR finds Patrick in his newfound home on the East coast of Kent, four years into recovery and beginning work on his first album in over thirteen years – all from his garden recording studio, surrounded by instruments, relics from his past and cats Ronnie and Percy.

Directed by Tribeca Festival & BAFTA Cymru award-winner Christian Cargill, the film is a portrait of an artist, connecting with creativity again after redefining their meaning of home.
