Love and Hate is set in the North of England in a town where racial tension has reached boiling point. Adam has grown up indoctrinated by his mother's and brother's bigoted views. Naseema is from a Muslim family and whilst her father is a liberal who has embraced the West, her brother Yousef fights violence with violence. He believes Naseema should behave like a good Muslim girl but she wants more out of life than an arranged marriage.<br /> <br /> When Naseema and Adam meet through work, the mutual attraction is undeniable. Soon Naseema's vivacity and beauty confound Adam's preconceptions and he finds himself unable to condone the views of his family. The young couple embark on a passionate journey of self-discovery. But in order to find happiness together, they must somehow overcome the deep prejudices that surround them.

Twelve year old Chloe is sick of moving house. As soon as they get settled in one place, her Mum gets in trouble and they have to move to another cold, run-down Burnley council house. Mum, Chloe and brother Gary, are driven to the new estate by wise-cracking Neil, who takes a shine to Chloe's Mum. As they bundle their few possessions into the house, Chloe meets Kelly, their sparky next door neighbour who is her age.<br /> <br /> Kelly and Chloe strike up a friendship, talking about boys, sharing cigarettes and Kelly introduces Chloe to lighter-fuel sniffing. At home, Chloe gets constantly picked on by Gary. Her mum does nothing to help; she is too wrapped up in her drinking and depression. From her bedroom window Chloe begins to notice the older boy over the way. His name is Lee and the two of them find they have their bad home lives in common.<br /> <br /> One night Chloe witnesses Lee being beaten up by his dad. The next thing she knows, Lee pulls up outside in a stolen car. He is running away and Chloe begs to come with him. They go, but Chloe ends up being picked up by the police and taken home.<br /> <br /> Things go from bad to worse and Chloe deteriorates fast. Finally Chloe has had enough. She leaves and there's hope in her eyes. She is getting away before it is too late.<br /> <br /> A made for TV film.
