Synopsis

At the edge of the world, death lies between every crack of ice and sheet of snow. Despite this, a small, forgotten port-town fights through the darkness to survive. In the midst of this, where every person, every action must be held accountable, a young man must prove his worth.

Adage is a ballet term which refers to a slow and graceful sequence of movements - in this film artist/ filmmaker Jack Barrett seeks to juxtapose this with disorientating abstraction caused by process and editing. Barrett utilises risograph, mono-print, shadow projection and manual point tracking to create varying levels of abstraction, in turn playing with our associated perception of movement.
