Synopsis
When a cursed amulet turns their rival boy band act into a screeching gang of zombies, a group of cheerleaders must learn to use their wits, friendship and assorted power tools to overcome their fears before a TV talent show takes a turn for the apocalyptic.

If you're going to give people a great deal of power, you need to know that they can handle it. To test an experimental implant that gives people complete control over their environment, a secret agency assembles five strangers. According to their reading habits, employment histories and shopping records, they are five of the most balanced people in England. These five are offered an opportunity to spend a week in a specially designed house, in which they will have ultimate power during set hours of the day, within their own rooms. Two of the subjects, David and Lucy, create an environment of 50s domestic tranquillity. Another, Charlotte, uses the power to gain knowledge and advance mankind. Another, Luke, is just looking to have as much fun as possible. There is, however, a fly in the ointment. The final subject, James Todd, is not who he claimed to be. The records weren't his. He is not one of the most balanced people in England. He's a borderline psychopath, and having so much power at his fingertips looks set to erase that border altogether.

A 50-year-old widow, Emma, has lost everything since her husband, Sam, was killed and her final refuge, a holiday lodge in Cornwall is due to be repossessed too. She is harried by debt collectors, seeing things, agoraphobic, and convinced she is losing her mind. Desperate, she calls for help from any God listening, and in a dark wood, something hears her. Her dead husband is haunting her and appears and talks to her in the dead of night. Emma’s starts to experience dreams of a magical wood and strange figures of butterflies and men made from twigs start to appear in and around the lodge. Sam is advising that she must let go of the old, in order let a new life in, but this terrifies Emma. Emma starts to see moments from her future; each bleaker than the last and fears for her own survival. With eviction imminent, Emma agrees she must surrender, whatever that might mean. A creature made from forest appears and helps her to escape. She follows it into the magical wood from her dreams and is baptised in a beautiful river. When she emerges, she is reborn and ready for her new life.
