Synopsis

When a woman disappears in an underpass, her grieving friend investigates. But after she too vanishes, the mystery erupts across social media. As more women disappear from the same location, the internet fractures into competing theories: a hidden serial killer, institutional failure, or something supernatural. Told through CCTV, livestreams, mobile phones and social media, Saint Maria's Way begins as a true crime investigation before mutating into a supernatural found-footage horror. The film explores our cultural obsession with public investigation, surveillance and the spectacle surrounding violence against women, asking whether constant documentation ultimately reveals the truth - or feeds the monster.
