The Space Between

Synopsis

Lisa spends her days numb, isolated in a comfortless flat, her only respite brought by working at an observatory, where she comes close to the stars.

In London Steven loses everything and heads for sanctuary to the city he grew up in.

At dead of night, at their lowest points, Lisa and Steven rescue one another, discovering kindred spirits and a chance to turn their lives around.

An Edinburgh love story and redemption tale shot in glorious sunshine over 17 days, for only £15,000, THE SPACE BETWEEN is written & directed by Tim Barrow, producer of award-winning Scottish road movie THE INHERITANCE. The central roles are taken by Tim and Vivien Reid, who makes her screen debut after an extensive career in theatre, and they are joined by David Whitney, a fast-rising star of stand-up comedy.

Shot by cinematographer Chris Martin the film was designed by Halla Groves-Raines and edited by Anthony Bueno.

Following its sold-out premiere at Edinburgh’s Filmhouse, THE SPACE BETWEEN is touring Scotland until Spring 2012.
