The Triumph of Love

Synopsis

Leonide Princess of Sparta, sits on a throne usurped by her father which rightfully belongs to Agis. Leonide had spied Agis swimming in a lake and fallen deeply in love with him; she therefore schemes to conquer the young man's heart, marry him and give back what is due to him by right of birth.

Agis has been brought up, secretly, in a villa protected by solid walls, by the philosopher Hermocrates and his sister Leontine, according to the principles of the enlightenment philosophy. Devoted to reason, they despise emotions and feelings and distrust what is mysterious and inexplicable. They have taught the young Agis to hate the princess.

Leonide and her maid Corine, disguised as male students, Phocion and Hermidas, sneak into the villa. They appear anxious to drink deep from the fountain of Hermocrates' Knowledge and are assisted, at a price, by the servants Arlequin and Dimas. Weaving a tangled web of emotions, the two girls put into effect a cunning and sensual plan. The outcome of which provides the wherewithal for love to triumph.

Benz Workshop Mrs Benz

Director: Eloise Singer

Year: 2025

Mrs Benz brings to life the remarkable true story of Bertha Benz, a pioneer who defied societal expectations and risked everything to prove her husband Karl Benz’s revolutionary invention, the world’s first motorcar, to the world. Set in 1888 Germany, the experience centres on Bertha’s daring 120-kilometre journey, undertaken in secret and against the conventions of her time. What began as an act of quiet defiance became a turning point in global innovation, reshaping history itself. Directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Eloise Singer and starring Daisy Ridley, this narrative-driven VR experience premiered in competition at Venice Film Festival, and went on to premiere at Cannes, SXSW, Sheffield Doc/Fest, and Berlin. The project is now regarded as a significant work in immersive storytelling, bringing to light the story of a woman long overlooked in the history of innovation.
