The Hoarder

A woman joins forces with a mysterious group of strangers to escape a terrifying underground facility.
January 2nd
Director: Matt Winn
Year: 2006
When a 30-something couple give a New Year’s weekend bash for their assorted friends, the ensuing jealousies, tensions and emotions that emerge from such a reunion cause them to decide the future of their own troubled marriage. January 2nd is a hip, sexy film with hilarious comedy set pieces performed by a talented cast of young British actors. It lifts the lid on contemporary relationships with a fierce sexual honesty and brings its characters to the screen with coruscating wit. It combines the humour of Withnail and I and the warmth of The Big Chill, with a soundtrack to match that charts the history of the last 15 years of UK music and street culture.
Galicia!
Director: Anna Maguire, Kyle Greenberg
Year: 2026
What if you went on a holiday and the apocalypse happened? GALICIA! is a found-footage, hybrid-documentary following a couple through home video footage as they visit their friends at a winery in rural Spain and inadvertently capture the end of days. We live in a time where the sense of our impending mutually assured destruction is more real than it’s ever been. GALICIA! Takes the form of a holiday video - a document of a couple before - and after the great cataclysm. The film starts as something that feels unedited - an accidental video diary of an ordinary couple that feels somewhat ghostly as much as it is also pedestrian. As the film evolves and degrades, we are led to question the fragility of humanity, as well as its power to endure.
