Herbie, an American from Oklahoma, nearly gets run over in a London street on his first day here. He is saved by a city kid, Ben, who then spends the day with him ,showing him London. In the evening they go to a pub and by coincidence they meet Katie, who was their waitress earlier in the day, at a greasy spoon. Ben fancies Katie but is too shy - can Herbie help Ben get his girl?
