Project Detail

Under the Wire

Synopsis

On 12 February 2012, two journalists entered war-ravaged Syria. One of them was celebrated Sunday Times war correspondent, Marie Colvin. The other was photographer, Paul Conroy. Their aim was to cover the plight of Syrian civilians trapped in Homs, a city under siege and relentless military attack from the Syrian army. Only one of them returned.
This feature length drama-documentary tells the epic story of what happened to Marie Colvin and Paul Conroy in Homs. One of the most dramatic stories yet to emerge from the Arab Spring, and the pivotal event in the tragedy of modern day Syria. A gripping account of bravery, heroism, and the triumph of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming and horrific adversity.
The testimonies of those involved, woven together with never-before-seen archive footage and in the moment filming, goes deep into the intense, tragic drama of Conroy and Colvin’s journey into Homs and Conroy’s incredible escape from the city. A chilling, moment-by-moment, journey into the depths of hell.
Based on the book “Under the Wire” by Paul Conroy

Glaciers Requiem Glaciers Requiem

Director: Saddiq Abubakar

Year: 2026

In isolation on Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Nigerian-born modular synthesis artist Colloboh transforms glacial and oceanic recordings into sonic compositions - uncovering a dialogue between ice and sea that reshapes his understanding of consciousness, ecological collapse, and humanity’s place within both. As his process unfolds, Colloboh transforms these sounds into layered sonic works that blur the boundaries between observation and communion. The film culminates in a haunting gesture: he plays the completed composition back to the landscape itself, completing a dialogue between artist and environment. A meditation on impermanence, consciousness, and the fragile bond between humanity and the natural world.

Two women dressed in traditional Welsh clothing, wearing stove pipe hats. Tŷ Unnos

Director: Lily Tonkin-Wells, Nina Allmoslechner

Year: 2026

It is said that Penrhos cottage was built in one night. According to Welsh folklore, if you could build a house overnight on common land, with smoke rising from the chimney by dawn, the place would be yours to keep. 200 years later in rural Pembrokeshire, the house stands still in time. Beneath its thatched roof lived Rachel and Maria, two sisters who spent their days crafting a life that defied societal rules written for women. Quietly radical, the pair were celebrated by the whole community. A fairytale documentary told through the eyes of the children who once visited. Recounting memories of Penrhos and the legacy of its last owners, the past flickers back to life.

A woman with long hair standing in the sea, gazing towards the horizon. Transcendence

Director: Sharon Burrell

Year: 2025

An experimental film conveying a positive lived experience of being trans, as a counterpoint to the overwhelmingly negative narratives in the current discourse. This glimmer of hope and optimism, performed by trans artist Toby Vincer, devised with director Sharon Burrell, meditates on Toby’s relationship with their body, the Divine Feminine, and the natural environment.
