White

Synopsis

Based on the life and career of snooker legend Jimmy White.
1992. Jimmy White is a man struggling with his demons. He is also a man in pursuit of greatness. His natural talent on the snooker table launches him to six World Championship finals over two decades... But it’s hard to achieve greatness when you’re smoking crack.
Jimmy - actually curled up in some dark crack place - is re-living the tattered fragments of his life and career as his mind-blowing highs and devastating lows are condensed into one dark, crack-fuelled night. Jimmy’s drug-taking distorts his memory of the world, and bleeds into our telling of his story - so, instead of seeing himself playing the gentleman’s game of snooker, when competing, Jimmy sees himself fist-fighting, brawling and firing pistols in shoot-outs and bloody gun battles. We open with Jimmy’s United Kingdom Championship victory, in which he batters his bleeding opponent into submission to become the UK champion (the fight echoing the ebb and flow of the real 1992 snooker match). Jimmy battles it out with the six giants of the game - receiving six life-changing wounds in the process...
