Synopsis

A young girl, Jenny, finds herself unwanted by either of her separated parents during the formative years of her life and leaves home at the earliest opportunity. However, live-in boyfriend Rick’s associations with witchcraft and black magic soon take her down a path which leads to the most horrific experience of her young life. She seeks help from friends, doctors, psychiatrists and religious leaders but finds only scepticism and disbelief. Finally, from within the confines of a mental hospital, she finds the help she needs.

Synopsis

The Starfish Principle was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. It is an independently funded documentary that focuses on vision, hope and building bridges. We filmed individuals and groups who are creating positive change. Our focus is on community, youth and the Aids situation. Seeing beyond the despair and hopelessness, and reaching out to make a change and a difference. Seeing the possibility in everyone and in every situation. So often there is huge overwhelm that blocks the will and people’s ability to find solutions. People often feel broken down by isolation, betrayals, loss of trust, hunger and poverty. In this film we interviewed people, groups and organisations, listened to their stories, bearing witness to their hopes, dreams, despair and struggles. We hope to build bridges in communication, healing, forgiveness and to nurture community. We hope to inspire, demonstrate solidarity and also empower the projects and people we came into contact with.  

Synopsis

The Time That Remains is a semi-autobiographical film, in four episodes, about a family, my family, from 1948 until recent times. The film is inspired by my father’s private diaries, starting from when he was a resistance fighter in 1948, and by my mother’s letters to family members who were forced to leave the country. Combined with my intimate memories of them and with them, the film attempts to portray the daily life of those Palestinians who remained and were labelled 'Israeli-Arabs', living as a minority in their own homeland. Synopsis

The Trip is an improvised tour of the North of England that reunites comedy favourites Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. In the style of 'Curb your Enthusiasm', the story is fictional but based around their real personas. When Steve is commissioned by a Sunday newspaper to review half a dozen restaurants, he decides to mix work with pleasure and plans a trip around the North of England with his food-loving American girlfriend. But when his girlfriend leaves him and returns to the States, Steve is faced with a week of meals for one. Reluctantly, he calls Rob, the only person he can think of who will be available. Rob, never one to turn down a free lunch, agrees and together they set off for a culinary adventure. Over the course of six meals at six different restaurants in and around the Lake District, Lancashire and The Yorkshire Dales, the unlikely couple find themselves debating the big questions in life over a series of culinary delights. This six-part comedy series is directed by Michael Winterbottom, and builds on the success of previous collaborations with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan, 'A Cock and Bull Story' and '24 Hour Party People'.

Thugs, Mugs and Violence a new British gangland tale set in the boundaries of London. Three criminal gangs that are fighting to win control over the London territories. After the disappearance of £2million pounds worth of drugs, blame falls between the rival firms. The streets of London then become the backdrop to an intertwined game of cat and mouse between the gangs as each make their play to gain control as the story twists and turns with a host of colourful characters, shoot outs and violence. The Davis brothers are old school criminals from the East End of London, Mo Mo is the leader of Brick Lane firm whilst the South London gang is headed by Tony ‘The Ant’ Declan. As the story unfolds around the three gangs, we encounter Peeper’s, Judge, Stardust and the Serb who further intensify the tale of double-cross, bloodshed and revenge.
