Synopsis

Mister Kindle landed a new job with a Japanese company but on the morning of his first day, crowds of commuters stop him from crossing London Bridge. Problem. And that's just the beginning. As Mr Kindle will soon find out, he will need to give up much more than what he bargained for to keep his job.

Synopsis

It is 1995. The summer when the war operation Storm will take place. Boro travels to his home village Drinovci, Herzegovina, with his wife Jasna and son Luka in the hope of seeing his brother who was wounded while leaving Sarajevo.

Boro constantly fights with Jasna, and he doesn't speak at all to his father Pako, whom he blames for his mother's death. In two weeks in August 1995, Boro will solve the years long dispute with his father, and will learn to be a better husband and a father.

Stephen and Cheryl are college students making a documentary about what people dread in life. But they have no idea that their partner Quaid, witnessed his parents being murdered by an axe-wielding lunatic and wants to make others experience his own personal horror.

The three set out to document people revealing their life's most terrifying moments. But Quaid quickly grows bored with mere interviews and decides to take the study to a much more visceral level, causing all three to become vulnerable as they reveal their fears in front of the camera. Just as Stephen and Cheryl realize they have partnered with a madman, they also find themselves subjects of the hideous experiment they brought to life learning more about fear and dread than any human mind can stand.

The main themes of Egression are escape and redemption. All the characters are trying by some means or another to escape from aspects of their pasts. Whether it's by drinking, taking drugs, gambling, casual sex or violence. What begin as fun distractions in youth lead to lives of self abuse and addiction.

With forms of therapy frowned upon by the strata of society composing the piece and families distant or uncaring, the characters have no recourse but each other. After the lead female character takes her own life, the others are left with the repercussions; blame, guilt, self-doubt. Thoughts of the futility of their own existence. Deciding to simply keep on living is the nearest to redemption these characters allow themselves or are perhaps even capable of.
