Based on Tove Jansson’s beloved novel, THE SUMMER BOOK tells the story of Sophia, a nine-year-old girl who is growing up fast, and her grandmother, who is nearing the end of her life. Together with Sophia’s father, they spend time at their family’s summer home on a tiny unspoiled island in the Gulf of Finland, exploring the islet, talking about life, nature and everything but their feelings about Sophia's mother's death and their love for one another. By the end of the summer, emotional wounds are healed, bonds are deepened, and the grandmother is able to leave this life peacefully.

Leonardo, 19, leaves Palermo to start university in London. However, living with his sister and her roommate, the initial excitement soon wanes. Restless, he impulsively enrols at the University of Siena to study literature and falls in love with the city. There, he finds his literature professor unbearable, so he quits and decides to dive into Italian classics on his own. This reflective solitude sparks an inner journey of self-discovery, intensified by encounters with other young people. A year later, Leonardo travels to Torino, where he meets a man who may free him from his obsessions.

An unconventional romantic comedy about a young American photographer and a French girl with a taste for the macabre. Paul and Paulette’s chance encounter on a Parisian boulevard sparks an unusual friendship that grows around a dark game; re-enacting scenes of notorious crimes from bygone eras at the sites they occurred. For Paul, the game is a way of getting closer to Paulette. For Paulette, it’s a way of escaping a painful break-up with her girlfriend, and of processing her own inherited trauma. As their morbid road trip approaches the more recent past it becomes more uncomfortable, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy, but finding a surprising joy in the darker corners of humanity.
