Disillusioned, middle class accountant Tom (Steven Mackintosh) has lost everything, including the will to live. In the back streets of London he searches for a gun. When he meets D (Ashley Walters), a homeless drug addict, Tom thinks he can buy what he needs without getting his hands dirty. But what D's offering comes with more than just a price tag. In a derelict warehouse, the transaction is underway. But D stalls, he is loving the rarity of a captive audience for his incessant, high-octane chatter. Elsewhere, local crime Kingpin Hoodwink (Andy Serkis) explodes with anger. He has been robbed in his own home, and he wants the culprit and his property back - now. Bursting into the warehouse, Hoodwink is quick to lay into D with the beating of a lifetime. Tom intervenes, and for his efforts, he too, receives a savage beating from Hoodwink. Desperate for his life, D points the finger at three others. Hoodwink leaves to continue his rampage elsewhere, but both D and Tom know it's only a matter of time before Hoodwink discovers the truth about the gun - and returns to find it, and them. With the impending threat of Hoodwink on their backs, D and Tom play an intense game of cat and mouse, scrambling to cut a deal and make sense of the very lives they may be about to lose .

Two best friends, Leung and Will, both 16 years old, go to the woods to catch themselves a wish. Through this we see Leung's affection for his friend. We see his anxiety, confusion and excitement hanging out with his friend and wanting to kiss him, but not knowing how to approach it. It's a kiss he has to fight for.

As a hard-pressed family struggles to get home after a days shopping, a young girl discovers that mum doesn't always know best. Sweetie follows seven year-old Tash and her family - mum Lynn, dad Kevin and little brother Ewan - as they attempt to catch a bus home after a day out at the local shopping centre. Life is sweet, until they discover that they don't have the correct change for the bus and are subsequently 'thrown off'. Watched by a voyeuristic crowd both on the bus and at the bus stop, small actions and reactions cause more problems and humiliation for the family.

Tanju Miah opens in a misty landscape in rural Bangladesh, where a young boy waits for his mother. "I'm about eight or nine", he says in a voice-over. "When I grow up I want to become a rich man, by singing". He waits and works, and sometimes sings. Director Sadik Ahmed uses a series of graceful scenes to build a psychologically complex portrait of a child who might otherwise disappear into statistics. His bosses call him Blacky. "But in my village", he says, "my real name is Tanju".

In this urban ghost story set in a supermarket, we find our heroine Isabel resigning her self to a life of shelf stacking and shop displays at Cheapi Cheapi Cutz, where Stanley the manager bosses her around and memory of her mother undermining her, grinds her down. She is forced into action, however, when she is visited by a very unusual ghost and given an ultimatum she cannot refuse!

Tehran Trace takes the same motion path slowly and silently across four still photographs; the foyer of the Hotel Laleh, the Mirror Hall of the Golestan Palace, a stone arch towards the north of the city, and a bazaar with a view of mountains. Each 'trace' begins close up, curves away from its opening subject and ends with the original image fully framed.
