In a small town in Northern England sometime in the 1960s, an undertaker is caught in a life and death moral dilemma, as he is coerced into disposing of the victims of a local gangster’s murderous power grab.
A dark psychological thriller blending mythic themes of loyalty and revenge, and good and evil, as it explores the fragile, shadowy boundary between life and death. A stark character study portraying the the moral journey of a man who profits from the deaths of others, but ultimately has to face the consequences of his actions before it is too late.
After a terrorist bombing, junior intelligence officer Helena Brennan is tasked with gathering information about a radical Muslim cleric - the notorious and elusive al Sharif. On travelling to Pakistan, Helena becomes involved in a botched mission to capture one of al Sharif’s key lieutenants. One of her colleagues is murdered, and the other is kidnapped and later executed, as Helena’s world disintegrates around her. She must hunt down the perpetrators to find redemption.
That’s the story. But the film doesn’t show you how the story unfolds. Instead, you encounter its characters alone in a black void, staring into the camera’s lens. Their faces are the film’s landscapes. They report on the lives they are forced to live and the harrowing world that we’ve imagined for them. THE VIEW FROM ABOVE is a film that asks spectators to confront the brutal, misogynist and white-supremacist ideologies of the stories we consume as entertainment. It seeks to reveal the role that so many contemporary thrillers force audiences to play and invites them to regret learning their lines.

In the confines of a prison visiting booth, twin brothers face one another. The conflicted visitor, bearing a message for the inmate, grapples with scars of the past. As childhood memories and buried secrets resurface, these young men- though separated by glass- remain bound by fate.
Cam is a techno-hermit, conducting life from his electronically automated smart-home. Work, shopping, entertainment and most notably: socialising. Cam interacts with strangers on the platform Hello Stranger: a randomised video chatting website. Eventually, he encounters a masked stranger with an altered voice. Unnerved, Cam leaves the call only to find the stranger has hacked his smart-home and locked him in. The stranger tells Cam that he must win three rounds of games or it is ‘game over’. Viewers must make decisions and play the 3 games in order for Cam to survive but one wrong choice could lead to a grisly end.
