London, 1888. The West End bourgeoisie revel in gossip whilst the East End is plagued with the terror of a new threat; Jack the Ripper.
Amongst the chaos and misinformation of the newspapers, an all-ladies ghost-hunting society has arisen. Their sole mission is to prove the papers wrong; to alert the public that the murderer is no man, but a monster.
But the women are not alone. Tamworth, a friend of one of the society members, Minnie, has recently manipulated and adapted a pinhole camera to record moving images.
The society welcomes him in as their documentarian, their captor of ‘proof’ to support their claims.
As we follow the women through a tumultuous series of seances, ghost hunts and murders, we become aware that Tamworth’s intentions are far more sinister than what they first seemed.
In a forgotten fishing village, a boat mysteriously appears in the old harbour. The Rose of Nevada, lost at sea with all hands 30 years ago, has returned. For the few who remember, it’s a sign. The Rose of Nevada must go out to sea again, maybe then the luck of the devastated village will turn. Nick takes a job aboard the boat in an attempt to provide for his young family. Alongside him, newly arrived Liam joins the crew, desperate to escape his past. They head to sea and after a successful trip return to harbour. But something is amiss. They’ve slipped back in time and the villagers greet them as if they are the original crew.

After decades of lies, resentments and stolen identities, a Muslim mother confronts her drag queen son for her long overdue moment in the spotlight.
Mother's husband and Son's father has just died. Mother is losing everything; her house, her glamour, her visibility. Son is profiting from grief; a drag queen who wins the applause his mother has never received. Whilst he has the spotlight, she is erased. He exaggerates stories of his mother, bartering in Islamophobic tropes to win white peoples’ sympathy. Her life is being re-written by her son – and he does it dressed as her.
Like Medea before her, Mother decides to claim what is hers – her voice, her identity, her story, her trauma. She confronts her son backstage for a show. A tragic Greek confrontation ensues, where intergenerational curses are finally broken, and Mother claims what she feels is rightfully hers.
