Synopsis

Filmed over seven years in England and the United States, Dance of Identity is an intimate, powerful portrait of love, resilience, and family against the backdrop of a global culture war. The documentary follows Sophie, a British trans woman and amateur ballet dancer, and her partner Sandi, as they build a life together. From Sophie’s triumphant public ballet performances to the couple’s fairytale wedding and the high-stakes birth of their child, their personal joys constantly clash with a shifting political landscape. As politicians and media headlines weaponise trans existence, the couple faces rising hostility, social media attacks, and legal threats to Sophie’s fundamental rights. Yet, through nine years of waiting for gender-affirming healthcare and navigating bureaucratic hurdles, theirs is a story of defiant hope. Dance of Identity reveals the profound impact of political rhetoric on the private sanctuary of a family, ultimately celebrating the triumph of love over systemic adversity.

Based on true events, GERONTO is a short LGBTQ+ coming-of-age drama about longing, connection, and self-discovery. Set over the course of one night in the late 2000s, the story follows Younger, a man in his 20s, who meets Older, a man in his 60s, at a discreet London pub. What begins as a tender and intimate connection soon fractures under the weight of a painful misunderstanding in a nearby hotel room, forcing both men to confront their deepest fears. GERONTO sheds a light on the often-taboo subject of gerontophilia, and challenges societal boundaries around age and desire. Delicate yet daring, the film offers a quietly radical portrait of queer intimacy across generations. Official Selection BFI London Film Festival 2026

Narrated through a deeply personal conversation with longtime friend Tilda Swinton, WOLF traces the extraordinary life of British musician Patrick Wolf. A defining artist of his generation, Patrick Wolf rose from the backdrop of early 2000s London. Shapeshifting between indie pop star and avant-garde artist, he was a maverick of his time. All until school-day traumas, grief and his addiction collided, making music a painful memory. The film is an exploration of resilience, the burden of being a singular LGBT voice and nature’s healing ability in finding that voice again. Interweaving present-day, animation and intimate material from over fifty hours of unseen archival footage, WOLF is a journey of hope that shows no-one has to be defined by the shadows of their past. Synopsis

In the grey rhythms of a 1990s British secondary school, a student begins to sense a discomfort that has no name, just a feeling that the role they’re playing doesn’t quite fit. Through a missing pair of joggers, an unexpected line from Macbeth, and the quiet rituals of uniforms, registers, and school corridors, this film traces the first flickers of identity forming - not through revelation, but recognition.
