Synopsis

Set in a country coming of age, Little Box of Sweets is a simple love story about a young girl's journey to fight for her dreams and the love of the man who inspired her. A little village in North India is Asha's world. Whatever she knows and wants is right here in her humble existence with her grandparents and her soul mate Lalli. Then Seth comes along, the handsome son of an Indian Commissioner and Sheila, the beautiful daughter of a British missionary. Seth and Asha's common love for poetry draws them closer - awakening Asha to a dream to be more like him and strive for a better future. But it comes at a price.

This artists' film explores a painting depicting the attack on the Golden Temple, Amritsar, by Indian Troops in 1984 and parallels Sikh sentiment surrounding this event with the Christian tradition of the 'Via Dolorosa' (Passion of Christ), thereby highlighting the universality of political corruption and human rights abuses.

A 'Bollywood' legend comes to London to tread the boards in Shakespeare, but first he must find a leading lady to match his charm and sexual dynamism. He brings with him his (not so) faithful sidekick Ramyou Balti and his spiritual advisor the 'honourable guru Baboo' to help him with the auditions. However Popo Gigi's eloquence and magnetism is such that his rendition of Shakespeare makes the actresses melt in paroxysms of sexual ecstasy, forgetting to act, instead divesting themselves of their clothes. Ramyou's zeal to take over Popo's position leads to a madcap chase through London culminating in a yoga showdown for the title.

A 16 year old boy, Leung, has a chance to win a wish; it's a wish he has to fight for. It is said that if one succeeds in catching a falling leaf in mid flight, then a wish will be granted. Two best friends, Leung and Will, both 16 years old, go to the woods to catch themselves a wish. Through this we see Leung's affection for his friend. We see his anxiety, confusion and excitement hanging out with his friend and wanting to kiss him, but not knowing how to approach it. It's a kiss he has to fight for.

Tanju Miah opens in a misty landscape in rural Bangladesh, where a young boy waits for his mother. "I'm about eight or nine", he says in a voice-over. "When I grow up I want to become a rich man, by singing". He waits and works, and sometimes sings. Director Sadik Ahmed uses a series of graceful scenes to build a psychologically complex portrait of a child who might otherwise disappear into statistics. His bosses call him Blacky. "But in my village", he says, "my real name is Tanju".

2015, the last known oil fields have been vanquished by corporation run governments throwing the world into disarray. Out of this apocalyptic nightmare the corporations embark on a course of action to cull the human race and initialise a depopulation programme.   But the scientists tasked with this heinous act revolt, thus creating a drug that will keep the human race alive. But with no time to test the drug, humans are left in a state far worse than death. Reduced to a primitive ape-like state, their only instinct is to kill. For they are no longer human, but 'Biosyns'. Cast adrift to survive alone in the wilderness, Max has learnt to become a hunter/gatherer, living off the land, but under constant threat from the Biosyns. He has forged a life without human contact, a young man living from moment to moment. Soon he learns that the Biosyns are learning to communicate, and are banding together to become the new dominant race, and then Max will have to face a greater number than ever before. So when he encounters a 'Tracker' (genetically enhanced POWs from the oil wars) his first instinct is to kill him. Surviving the attack, the Tracker reassesses his original mission - track down and kill Max - to take him south to safety - as the Corporation believe Max’s blood may contain the antidote to the Biosyn Holocaust. And now, if Mankind is to survive, then Max must undertake an odyssey fraught with rampaging Biosyns and deadly Trackers.

Ravi and Paul, two friends from Leicester, end up attending a gay party in the small Indian town of Shimoga, upon an invitation of Ravi's Parsee email-pal Jeh from Mumbai. A genteel dreamer Ravi instantly falls in love with Mani - a dark and handsome local working man. Ravi and Paul also meet an older male couple, Murthy and Anna, now in their sixties. Murthy has lived in the UK to avoid marriage. When he returns to attend his mother's funeral, his lover Anna (a married man by then) convinces him to stay back. After his wife's death, Anna decides to join Murthy and they run a hotel. Both Ravi and Paul are surprised to meet the older same-sex couple. Although Ravi can't let go of his newfound love, Mani cannot overcome the vast gap that exists between them. Mani is under constant pressure to get married to a woman. When Ravi asks Mani to accompany him to the UK, Mani shows very little willingness. Ravi seeks Murthy and Anna's help, but the couple hide behind words of wisdom and express inability to bring Ravi and Mani together. Tension brews between Ravi and Paul due to sexually charged Mani and the situation highlights some nasty cracks in their friendship. Mani throws in a surprise at the farewell meeting that Ravi's asked for. Interspersed with flashes of semi-surreal situations - presented through exciting dream sequences - Yours Emotionally! unfolds a brightly painted canvas that defies stereotypes and explores contrasting values within Indian and Western gay sub-cultures.
