A small and very disparate group of people arrive on a remote Orkney island beach tasked with a top secret mission - the making of pornographic films for the boys at the front. Kay is preparing toad-in-the-hole for dinner. She seems preoccupied with something. Her son needs a lift but Kay tells him that he’s got to take the bus, her husband is still out at work and she is expecting a delivery. Resentfully, Will leaves. Now alone, Kay’s pre-occupation is even more palpable. She receives a text from the delivery company telling her that her driver, Dave, is nearby. She springs into action, she removes her wedding ring, with difficulty, and puts it in a kitchen draw. The doorbell rings and it is Dave. She asks him if he can carry the parcel upstairs for her as she is recovering from a recent minor surgery. He does, and she leads him to her bedroom, following him inside and then closing the door behind her. Dave is bemused but intrigued. From outside the room we hear the sounds of their lovemaking, brief but passionate, before a pink-faced Kay and Dave re-emerge into the hallway. As Dave descends the stairs, he asks her what’s for tea. She tells him it’s toad-in-the-hole, his favourite. Dave is Kay’s husband. He leaves to complete his final deliveries.
