Synopsis

The year is 1927. Mr Spam is a budding inventor and visionary. Due to his job at the Hammer To Heads Company his hat is stuck on his head thereby thwarting his cheerful visions from being realised. A lovely and talented surrealist painter named Dot creates a lively and ingenious painting for Mr Spam just in the nick of time. Love, daydreams and surrealism are unleashed and save everyone's day.

Synopsis

In 1938, Europe teeters on the brink of conflict as Adolf Hitler prepares to invade Czechoslovakia in an effort to further his territorial expansion. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, desperate to find a peaceful resolution, finds himself in a race against time to prevent a war. As the stakes mount, British civil servant Hugh Legat and German diplomat Paul Hartmann attend an emergency conference in Munich. Once great friends from their days at Oxford, the now-estranged pair are forced to unite once again as they find themselves caught in a dangerous web of political deception.

Synopsis

Set in 1943, the film follows two brilliant intelligence officers, Ewen Montagu (Firth) and Charles Cholmondeley (Macfadyen) who conceived a plan that was dubbed Operation Mincemeat. They would trick the Nazis into thinking that Allied forces were planning to attack southern Europe by way of Greece rather than Sicily. Their plan was to get a corpse, equip it with misleading papers, then drop it off the coast of Spain where Nazi spies would take the bait.

Synopsis

Poly Styrene was the first woman of colour in the UK to front a successful rock band. She introduced the world to a new sound of rebellion, using her unconventional voice to sing about identity, consumerism, postmodernism, and everything she saw unfolding in late 1970s Britain, with a rare prescience. As the frontwoman of X-Ray Spex, the Anglo-Somali punk musician was also a key inspiration for the riot grrrl and Afropunk movements.
But the late punk maverick didn’t just leave behind an immense cultural footprint. She was survived by a daughter, Celeste Bell, who became the unwitting guardian of her mother’s legacy and her mother’s demons. Misogyny, racism, and mental illness plagued Poly’s life, while their lasting trauma scarred Celeste’s childhood and the pair’s relationship.
Featuring unseen archive material and rare diary entries narrated by Oscar-nominee Ruth Negga, this documentary follows Celeste as she examines her mother's unopened artistic archive and traverses three continents to better understand Poly the icon and Poly the mother.

She discovers that the process of such surgery opens up questions about her very existence, leading her to start to question and confront past traumas. The two develop an unlikely bond as mysterious forces give Veronica the power to enact revenge within her dreams.
