Synopsis

Experimental artist and auteur Andrew Kotting creates a groundbreaking crossover between narrative film and contemporary art piece, based on the award-winning play by Hattie Naylor. The film is inspired by the true story of Ivan Mishukov, who walked out of his Moscow apartment at the age of four and spent two years living on the city streets where he was adopted by a pack of wild dogs. In the recession-ravaged city, Ivan’s human world was dominated by deprivation and violence; his only hope was to turn to feral dogs for company, protection and warmth. Kotting’s spellbinding and utterly original story of survival conjures the streets of Moscow in the 1990s through the eyes of a child, drawing on a range of innovative modes and techniques to produce a montage essay on the state of the world.

Synopsis

After three years Aaron returns to his old estate upon hearing about the death of his younger brother Tom. Aaron's path soon crosses with old circles and he learns his cousin Ryan owes a debt to Shane Waldron for losing a large stash of drugs. Aaron knows ruthless Shane only too well having worked for him in the past, he takes on Ryan's debt in order to stop Shane from taking their Grandmothers house. Aaron finds himself back in a life of crime in order to raise the money. In his race against the clock and with obstacles in his way he seeks help from his ex girlfriend Danielle and cousin Ryan. Aaron pulls out all the stops, however in doing so he uncovers some dark secrets about his past.

Synopsis

A funny yet touching coming of age football memoir played out to the sights and sounds of Britain in 1970. Adapted from the comic novel by Dave Roberts, it recounts the author’s highs and the lows supporting his beloved team Bromley FC through their worst ever season.
Bumping along at the bottom of the bottom non-league division, and effectively the worst football team in Britain, Bromley had reached breaking point. Desperate for a change of fortune, and deluded by his own overactive imagination, Dave hatches a plan that will not only see Bromley grabbing the headlines on national TV, but also have a number of top flight clubs descending upon Hayes Lane to scout Bromley’s dubiously overrated centre forward. Throw into the mix the Bromley Chairman’s daughter Ruby King – who actually hates football, but has taken quite a shine to Dave - and you have a recipe for disaster which has Dave’s football fandom tested to the core.
It just goes to show you can't choose who you fall in love with.

Synopsis

Across the water on the island, four individuals experience the end of life. Showing rarely seen and intensely private events, the film follows the progression of illness for each character and, for one, the last days and hours of life, the moment of death, and after death care. A lyrical, slow cinema description of the temporality and phenomena of dying, this film sensitively witnesses the transition away from personhood.
This is a palliative island, the Isle of Wight, an enigmatic landscape where all around rituals persist. Parallel to bedside vigils and the rhythm of breathing, we see rescue owls on the hospice ward, the rugged coastline, and the constant ferry arrivals. A choir rehearses Brahm’s 'German Requiem'. In the hospital pathology lab, microscopic close-ups of cancer show the interior of the bodies, our biology, our creatureliness. Death is presented as natural and everyday but also unspeakable and strange.

Synopsis

Having moved to Paris for university, Leevi returns to his native Finland for the summer to help his estranged father renovate the family lake house so it can be sold. Tareq, a recent asylum seeker from Syria, has been hired to help with the work, and when Leevi's father has to return to town on business, the two young men establish a connection and spend a few days discovering one another during the Finnish midsummer.
