‘Bo’ Gritz is one of America’s highest decorated Vietnam veterans and the alleged real life inspiration behind Rambo. He also killed 400 people, turned against Washington and moved to the Nevada desert where he now sleeps with many weapons. Filmed over ten years using impressive visual material, Zimmerman’s portrait of Bo embodies contemporary American society in all its dizzying complexity and contradictions. Synopsis

Paris, 1964. Alberto Giacometti, the celebrated artist, bumps into his old friend, a respected American critic, James Lord, and suggests that he sit for a portrait because he has an interesting face. Lord is flattered by the request, but as the days go by and turn into weeks and weeks seemingly with no end in sight, he realises his entire life has been hijacked by the erratic genius. The portrait continues to ebb and flow. Veering between frustration and joy, Lord ultimately sees logic in the artist's chaotic mind and witnesses Giacometti complete one of his last masterpieces. Synopsis

A dystopian alternate history television series based on the 1976 novel 'SS-GB' by Len Deighton. The Battle of Britain has ended in victory for Hitler’s Germany and the population of 1940s Britain struggles to adjust to life under Nazi occupation. Renowned London detective Douglas Archer is caught between his brutal new SS bosses and a ruthless British resistance movement while investigating what looks to be a black market- related murder. As Archer gets closer to the truth, he struggles to uphold the law and protect those he loves from two sides prepared to go to any lengths to control the ultimate outcome of the Second World War. Synopsis

A comedy wrapped around a tragedy, which unfolds in real time in a house in London in the present day. Janet is hosting an intimate gathering of friends to celebrate her promotion to Shadow Minister of Health in the party of opposition. Her husband, Bill, seems preoccupied. As their friends arrive, some of whom have their own dramatic news to share, the soirée gradually unravels. An announcement by Bill provokes a series of revelations that rapidly escalate into all-out confrontation. As people’s illusions about themselves and each other go up in smoke, along with the canapes, the party becomes a night that began with champagne but ends with blood on the floor. Synopsis

Viceroy’s House in Delhi was the home of the British rulers of India. After 300 years, that rule was coming to an end. For 6 months in 1947, Lord Mountbatten, great grandson of Queen Victoria, assumed the post of the last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people. The film’s story unfolds within that great House. Upstairs lived Mountbatten together with his wife and daughter; downstairs lived their 500 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants. As the political elite; Nehru, Jinnah and Gandhi, converged on the House to wrangle over the birth of independent India, conflict erupted. A decision was taken to divide the country and create a new Muslim homeland: Pakistan. It was a decision whose consequences reverberate to this day. The film examines these events through the prism of a marriage - that of Dickie and Edwina Mountbatten, and a romance, that between a young Hindu servant, Jeet, and his intended Muslim bride, Aalia. The young lovers find themselves caught up in the seismic end of Empire, in conflict with the Mountbattens and with their own communities, but never ever giving up hope. Synopsis

A group of unrelated adults are notified that they have won a competition to spend a night at the famously haunted Mermaid Hotel in Rye, Sussex, UK. They have not, however entered a competition. Soon after they arrive there is a murder and they find that they are locked in. The murders then begin in earnest as one by one they are killed with no visible sign of injury? As the murders continue the tension rises. Is the murderer a demon or something else supernatural or is it one of them. There is evil in the air and it looks like no-one will survive until the morning. Brad is the ghost hunter employed to conduct the ghost hunt but Brad is not quite as brave as he first appears!

Atom Spirit explores the increased interconnectedness of advanced technology and nature within the age of the Anthropocene. The film is set in Trinidad and Tobago, in a location that serves as a nexus point where desire, ecology and queerness intersect. Atom Spirit is a film that reconceptualises our relationships with the environment, non-human animals and each other. Shedding scientific taxonomies and building queer ecologies in their stead, the film considers the possibility and necessity for new means of being in the world.

Synopsis

Two young boys discover the entrance to a secret military bunker that has been undetected since World War II. The boys awaken something so terrifying that one boy doesn’t make it out alive and the other flees for his life only to be hit by a car. A police investigation is initiated but one by one the police and forensic officers are killed in grotesque and mysterious ways. Meanwhile in the local old people’s home, an elderly WWII veteran sees all of this unfolding on the news and realises what has happened. But will anybody believe a senile old man as the devastation and destruction mounts up around them?

Channeling the medium of knitting through film, 'Avoiding Green' explores this ancient craft as an early form of digital construction. Combining archive footage, interviews and ‘depth camera’ animation it explores the symbolic role that knitting took in the definition of gender stereotypes from the mid 20th Century onward.
