23-year-old Aaron returns to his hometown and reunites with his former best friend, John Gaudi. Finding John in a state of isolated depression as he struggles to find purpose in life, Aaron decides to help. In an isolated religious community ruled by men the Pastor’s daughter, Magpie, murders her abusive husband.
