Joy struggles with PTSD after her boyfriend’s murder and the pressures of a highly competitive dance career. Via interaction with a chatroom confidante, her story is gradually revealed as several paths converge against a backdrop of London’s knife crime epidemic.
After accidentally killing a mugger in a street attack, her improved mood inspires her to play vigilante in her fight against depression. But in her industry, mood swings are common. Mid-depression, she strikes again but this leads her into the midst of a power struggle between boss Saul and his associate Floyd and attracts the attention of local boys playing detective.
Elsewhere Joy has arch-rival Megan in her sights. But Megan reveals her own assault by an industry Legend and, empathising, Joy spares her.
Unfortunately, Megan’s later suicide, and press attention allows Joy’s whereabouts to be discovered and when confronted on her doorstep by Saul, she recognises him as her boyfriend’s killer. In the final moments she comes full circle on her unconscious search for revenge.
