Danny La Rue
Synopsis
La Rue was once known as the world’s most famous female impersonator. He had an acerbic risqué wit and was a familiar face to millions in the UK. La Rue hosted his own TV series in the 1970s and also his own Saturday night live show from the London Palladium.
Alongside his glitzy public persona La Rue had a complex personal life, including a web of relationships with both his male manager and his devoted female costume designer.
