Our Story, Our Voice
Synopsis
In an age where multi-national companies, states sponsor terrorism, democracy is imposed, and monoculturalism functions as unwritten law, Our Story, Our Voice is an essential film of resistance.
From the multi-award-winning producers of 500 Years Later, Our Story, Our Voice transforms what were once isolated whispers into unified, worldwide screams.

The Idea is a comical satire of modern society and our inability to listen. It is also a study of contemporary society's insensitivity towards the expression of new ideas and not being willing to give them the appropriate space to grow and form. Crime, drugs, HIV/AIDS, poor education, inferiority complex, low expectation, poverty, corruption, poor health, and underdevelopment all plague people of African descent globally. Why? Five hundred years from the onset of slavery and subsequent colonialism, Africans are still struggling for basic freedoms. Why?

Filmed in five continents, 500 Years Later examines the collective atrocities that uprooted Africans from their culture and homeland. 500 Years Later is a timeless and compelling journey, infused with the spirit and music of liberation that chronicles the struggle of a people who have fought and continue to fight for the most essential human right – freedom.
